Tracy is a highly experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a Master of Physiotherapy and over three decades of experience helping people manage persistent pain. She specialises in the treatment of chronic conditions, with a particular focus on Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders.
Tracy's unique approach integrates her expertise in both musculoskeletal physiotherapy and pain physiotherapy, allowing her to provide comprehensive and effective care to her patients. She has a deep understanding of the complexities of EDS and hypermobility spectrum disorders, which are often misunderstood and misdiagnosed. Tracy recognises that these conditions require a multidisciplinary approach that addresses not only the physical symptoms but also the emotional and psychological impact on patients' lives.
Drawing from her extensive experience, Tracy has honed a tailored treatment approach for individuals with EDS and hypermobility spectrum disorders. She emphasises the importance of patient education, helping her clients understand their condition and empowering them to take an active role in their own care. Tracy works closely with each patient to develop an individualised treatment plan that focuses on stabilising joints, improving proprioception, and building strength and endurance through carefully designed exercise programs.
In addition to hands-on therapy and exercise prescription, Tracy incorporates pain management techniques, such as mindfulness and relaxation strategies, to help her patients cope with chronic pain and improve their overall quality of life.
Throughout her career, Tracy has gained diverse experience practising in Australia and abroad. Her passion for helping those with back and spinal pain led her to pursue further studies at the University of Queensland, where she focused on real-time ultrasound-assisted exercise under the guidance of Julie Hides. Tracy has since worked in Pain Medicine Units for major Australian hospitals and extensively in private pain medicine settings, solidifying her position as a leading expert in the field of persistent pain.
